The reliability test under firearms law is a mandatory psychological examination for applicants for a gun ownership card or firearms pass. It includes a practical part to record personality traits such as emotional stability and a one-on-one interview with a psychologist. A valid photo ID, relevant notifications and proof of payment must be brought along for preparation. The examination should be started rested and sober, without alcohol the evening before or non-prescribed sedatives. If necessary, bring visual aids. After completion, you will receive a report by e-mail. If the assessment is positive, the application can be pursued further; if there are any doubts, an in-depth examination will follow.
Costs and procedures may vary depending on the federal state. Please obtain up-to-date information from the responsible authority
In Austria, a psychological examination is required by law for 16 to 18-year-olds before certain aesthetic procedures (§ 5 para. 2, § 7 para. 2 ÄsthOpG). This ensures that there are no psychological disorders underlying the desire for surgery.
The examination (1.5-3 hours) includes a discussion about the reasons for the treatment, a medical history and psychological tests. A referral from the surgeon is required. Please bring a photo ID, medical documents and proof of payment. A prior consultation is recommended.
This measure serves the responsible examination of aesthetic interventions in adolescents.
Operationalized Psychodynamic Diagnostics (OPD) is a depth psychology method for the comprehensive assessment of psychological problems. It supplements traditional diagnoses with a detailed analysis of unconscious conflicts, relationship patterns, structural abilities and disease processing.
The diagnosis is based on a detailed clinical interview and a structured assessment in several dimensions. It is used for a precise understanding of the case and individual therapy planning. The examination usually lasts 90 to 120 minutes and can be supplemented by further sessions, depending on the issue at hand.
